Suite aux résultats de cette étude, encourageants pour l’utilisation de moyens aériens pour l’observation des mammifères marins, la DAF de Mayotte (Service Environnement) à souhaité mettre en œuvre un programme de suivi des mammifères marins et plus spécialement des populations de baleines à bosse (Megaptera novaeangliae), au moyen de survols aériens du lagon.
