Ce travail s’est appuyé sur la liste des habitats marins initiée par Dirberg et Ferry suite à l’expédition Madibenthos organisée par le Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN), en 2016, en Martinique. Des observations et vérifications ponctuelles, effectuées sur le terrain jusqu’en 2021 ont permis de consolider la typologie.\r\nLa structure hiérarchique des habitats repose sur la méthode normalisée de classification de l’Ifrecor qui a cependant été adaptée aux spécificités du territoire. La typologie Millenium (issue du Millenium Coral Reef Mapping project), faisant référence à la géomorphologie des récifs coralliens, nous a servi de modèle pour réaliser notre typologie : l’existence de blocs au niveau 4 d'EUNIS en fait une typologie « dynamique », capable d'évoluer avec l'acquisition de connaissances nouvelles. Malgré les programmes scientifiques développés depuis une dizaine \r\nd’année, les enjeux de connaissance terrestre et marin restent considérables : \r\ninventaires d’espèces exhaustifs, étude de la mangrove primaire, identification \r\ndes habitats marins, spatialisation de ces habitats, évaluation de l’état de santé du \r\nmilieu et de son évolution, etc. Cette étude centrée sur Europa, a pour objectif de \r\ncaractériser les habitats marins et les pressions/menaces afin de disposer d’une \r\nmeilleure vision de la biodiversité marine et d’apporter des éléments pertinents \r\npour les gestionnaires et pour la création d’une Réserve Naturelle Nationale. \r\nL’utilisation des données de vérité terrain combinées à la télédétection et l’indice \r\nde similarité de Bray-Curtis nous a permis de caractériser 70 habitats pour une \r\nsurface récifale de seulement 17 km². 21 habitats remarquables ont été identifiés \r\ngrâce à la méthodologie ZNIEFF, et 43 habitats ont été cartographiés grâce à \r\nl’utilisation d’images Quickbird, aux produits LITTO3D et aux données de vérité \r\nterrain issues du programme IRD BIORECIE (BIOdiversité RECifale des Iles \r\nEparses). Ceci met ainsi en évidence la forte hétérogénéité des habitats marins de \r\nl’île : la zone nord du platier et lagon présentent la diversité d’habitats la plus \r\nimportante de l’île. L’étude de la résilience révèle une importante capacité des \r\nrécifs d’Europa à retrouver un état de santé proche d’avant une perturbation. Les \r\npressions naturelles et anthropiques s’exerçant sur les écosystèmes marins ont \r\nété identifiées dans la perspective de proposer des mesures de gestion \r\npertinentes.
