Or, depuis l’émergence des réseaux sociaux et de la blogosphère, il est tentant d’assimiler à l’opinion publique les messages qui sont véhiculés via ces vecteurs. \r\nCette acception nous semble sujette à caution, c’est la raison pour laquelle, elle figure parmi les deux hypothèses qui structurent la présente étude :  \r\na) dans le cadre de la « crise Requins », les réseaux sociaux et blogosphère ne sont pas représentatifs de l’opinion publique, \r\nb) l’acceptation sociale de la réserve varie principalement selon l’appartenance à une catégorie d’acteurs et le degré d’exposition des acteurs de la catégorie à l’aléa Requins.  . L’objectif principal est d’informer sur les flux économiques qui sont produits chaque année par ces écosystèmes et sur l’importance de les prendre en compte  dans les politiques de développement économique et budgets de gestion de l’environnement. \r\nIl a été évalué que les RCEA produisent chaque année un total de 460 M€, avec une estimation minimum de 360\r\nM€ et un maximum de 565 M€.  Au total, ce sont environ 1500 sociétés, 21 000 emplois et l’ensemble de la\r\npopulation qui dépendent à différents degrés des services écosystémiques des récifs coralliens et écosystèmes\r\nassociés de Polynésie Française. \r\nPrès de 160M€ sont visibles en termes de flux financiers annuels pour l’économie du territoire (via les valeurs\r\najoutées des services du tourisme, de la pêche et de la perliculture liés aux RCEA) tandis que d’autres services,\r\ncomme la protection contre les inondations côtières et la séquestration du carbone, ne sont pas comptabilisés \r\ndans les statistiques économiques.   \r\nLes principaux services en termes économiques sont la protection contre les inondations côtières (305M€/an), le\r\nservice d’attributs pour le tourisme « bleu »  (80 M€/an), suivi de la production de biomasse pour aliments (pêche commerciale et d’autoconsommation pour 44M€/an) et des services pour la perliculture (33M€/an). Les dépenses ainsi évitées ou la\r\nvalorisation sur le marché des crédits carbone du CO2 séquestré sont à prendre en compte dans l’évaluation\r\nde la valeur de ces écosystèmes dont les services sont essentiels au développement des communautés\r\ninsulaires.
