Constitué de scientifiques, gestionnaires, décideurs et représentants de bureaux d’études, les membres du groupe de travail ont présenté leurs actions sur les herbiers et fait part de leurs retours d’expériences sur la mise en oeuvre des protocoles dans le cadre des suivis stationnels en cours dans les outre-mer français. Des bilans régionaux recensant les enjeux, les besoins et les perspectives d’actions par territoire ont été établis. Les échanges techniques sur la mise en oeuvre localement des protocoles et des actions de recherche appliquée par ailleurs ont permis de refaire un point sur le choix des paramètres et les méthodologies associées. Dans ce cadre, le protocole de surveillance DCE (RCS) aux Antilles a été adapté, en préconisant notamment la structuration de la station d’échantillonnage autour de 3 transects de 50 mètres. L’aspect novateur du protocole méthodologique proposé repose sur l’expression cartographiée d’une typologie descriptive. Le guide méthodologique entend répondre à 3 objectifs :\r\n1. construire un référentiel commun d’analyse des mangroves. Cet objectif passe par l’utilisation d’une typologie harmonisée (typologie descriptive) ;\r\n2. présenter et analyser les méthodes les plus adaptées à la cartographie des mangroves autorisant un suivi des changements de la végétation ;\r\n3. apporter les premiers éléments méthodologiques dans la perspective de l’élaboration future du réseau d’observation des mangroves, qui à terme, permettra la gestion et l’analyse de nombreuses données.
